Open House 2012

 

 

It's hard to believe but Ben is a big 5th grader now! Here he is with his teacher, Mrs. Martin.  It's his last year in the elementary school and this was his last elementary open house. (I had to stop myself from thinking that until after it was over or I would have cried!)  I'm so proud of the young man he is becoming. 

 

Here is Ian with his teacher Mrs. Weaver.  He is a big 3rd grader this year!  The first day of school he told me that he loved Mrs. Weaver because at some point they were gonna get to DRINK HOT CHOCOLATE while watching a movie!  Haha!  At open house, Mrs. Weaver said that Ian sure is a fun guy... and I have no trouble believing that. LOL  This boy is hilarious and has the heart of an angel. (Fun fact:  Mrs. Weaver was also my brother's 3rd grade teacher.  :) So sweet.)

The boys were in my high school musical this year.  We did "Once On This Island, Jr." and they had a blast!

Too funny not to laugh...!

I was checking Ian's homework tonight and found this answer he had written. It's good logic...why WRITE OUT the answer when you can "probably do it in your head". hahahahaha! This kid is too funny!

All Ready for School!

This was taken the morning of the first day of school for the boys! Ian is in 2nd grade and Ben is in 4th grade. They are growing so fast! So far...they both love their teachers and are enjoying the start of the new year. :)

Here's a picture of Ben in his new glasses! He had been complaining for a couple of weeks about having trouble seeing the board at school...so off to the eye dr. we went! The dr. said he should be able to see a WHOLE LOT BETTER now! :)

The school year is halfway over already...hard to believe! I realized I hadn't posted these open house pics of the boys with their teachers...so here they are. The boys are both enjoying school. Ian says his favorite things about school are lunch, recess, & gym!

Ben is in the ALPHA class which is for accelerated learners and he is loving it! Both boys are getting good grades and learning something new every day. :)

HALLOWEEN!!

So...Ben decided to be JASON from "Friday the 13th" and Ian wanted to be the guy from "Scream". I guess the days of "cute" outfits are over...I mean they ARE boys. :o) I still think they look very cool!

Summer 2010

"Back to School!"

It's that time again! These are pics I took this morning before the boys went back to school. Ben is a 3rd grader and Ian a 1st grader. That's so hard to believe. As a teacher, I am always amazed at just how much kids seem to change over summer break. I see these pictures and am reminded that my own two change just the same.

"Take me out to the ballgame"

We took the boys to Wrigley Field this past weekend to see the Cubs play the Phillies! Needless to say, we had a blast! The looks on the boys faces as they got a glimpse of the field inside the stadium was simply priceless. I can remember my parents taking my brother and I here to see the Cubs play many times. Great memories were made...and the the Cubs won (by the way). :o)

We also took the boys to "Deep River Waterpark" in Merrillville. It was a really fun place and we had an awesome day playing in the water!
